Privacy and data use
Your financial decisions are your business.
TrueTimeCost is built to provide useful calculations with the least data access reasonably necessary.
1. Information used by the website
You can use the public calculator without creating an account. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser unless you intentionally use an account feature or another feature that requires a server request.
When you create an account, we use account information such as your email address and profile details needed to provide authentication, saved calculations, goals, subscription access and other requested features. Authentication credentials are handled by our authentication provider rather than stored as readable passwords by TrueTimeCost.
2. Saved financial information
Information you intentionally save—such as calculations, recurring costs, goals, purchase wait-list items or household planning data—is associated with your account so the product can display history, comparisons and progress. We do not sell this information to advertisers, data brokers or other third parties.
3. Browser extension
The TrueTimeCost browser extension reads visible product titles and prices on the supported retailer domains listed in its manifest solely to display work-hour and future-value calculations. Page analysis occurs locally in the browser. The extension does not send us a browsing-history log, product-view history, page contents or retailer URLs.
Extension calculation settings are stored through the browser's extension sync storage. Decisions are stored locally only when you explicitly choose Save decision. A saved extension decision can include the product title, retailer domain, page URL, price and calculated values. You can export or delete this local history from the extension at any time.
Information leaves the extension only after an action you initiate, such as opening the full TrueTimeCost calculator or sharing a result. A selected price may be included in the destination URL to prefill the calculator. The extension does not read passwords, cookies, payment-card details, private messages or financial accounts.
4. Service providers
We use service providers to operate essential product functions such as hosting, authentication, database storage, payments and product analytics. These providers process information according to their service role and contractual terms. We do not authorize providers to use your TrueTimeCost information for their own behavioral advertising.
5. Security
We use HTTPS for information transmitted between your browser and the website, restrict server-side access to authenticated product functions and apply plan and ownership checks to protected data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we design features to minimize unnecessary collection and access.
6. Your controls
You can update account information, remove saved items, export supported data, delete local browser-extension decisions, disable extension badges for individual retailers or uninstall the extension. To request access to or deletion of account data, contact us using the address below.
7. Children's privacy
TrueTimeCost is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
